ROMRPG!
Well, I'd like to start off like this:
Anybody who disagrees with what I'm doing, or has something they wish to know, contact me on Rivers of Mud. I go by the names Neimad & Trub (mostly).
I don't quite know if what Im doing is 100% legal, but the game will be 100% FREE for anybody to download. In no way am I looking to benefit from this by making money or otherwise.
There are many reasons Im creating this game.
1) This is my way of making a tribute to my favorite game, and building is something I enjoy.
2) Its a way for people who don't like muds to experience ROM.
3) Its a way for people who PLAY ROM to have a laugh and see what's been on my mind for a very long time.
Ok, some other things that I have to clear up. Some of the areas on ROM will NOT be included (though I cannot be specific on this topic at the moment) and if somebody has an area they do not want me to use for legal or other reasons, tell me before I get too far ahead of myself.
Mobs, weapons, armor and items may differ some. Im sure you don't expect to be running all about the world with no sense of direction looking for the leveling equipment your all so familiar with.
There is no character creation!! You are forced to be Neimad and face his realities in the land of Thera. Along his way, he meets up with many sorts of folk & other players from ROM. Very interesting story, indeed.
ROMRPG is not an online game by any means. It is a single player role playing game.
A few more things before I go back to building.. I WILL NOT use a players name unless they give me permission to use it, which is leaving me stumped.
If any ROM players are interested in becoming a playable character or NPC in the RPG, please, let me know. If anybody can think of something that is necessary to have in the ROMRPG or has ideas for a clever story. help is appreciated .
Finally, the release date!!! Its kinda what everybody keeps asking me.. Well, as of now the story is weak and short, so don't expect to be playing this anytime soon. Sorry, but right now I am juggling a job, a band, a character on rivers and building ROMRPG. Im just one man, so this will take time. (A long time, hehe)
